Labor Categories Defined
Senior Military Engineering Analyst (SMEA)
Minimum Education:  BS Engineering Degree or the equivalency of two years directly related experience for 1 year of college.  Related experience includes overseeing the accomplishment of engineering tasks being performed in a professional engineering environment, government or commercial.
Functional Responsibilities:
	Plans and performs complex engineering studies, analyses, and design requiring expert application of advanced and diversified engineering principles and knowledge of user requirements.  Also, implements these concepts to both generalized and specialized system/component requirements.
	Conduct engineering tests, inspections and investigations.  Develops system procedures, methods and tests.
	Prepares and reviews designs, specifications, related technical documentation and technical proposals.  Involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, and development of concepts and approaches.
	Provides guidance and assistance in coordinating tasks and assuring technical adequacy of the end product.
	Translates complex problems and requirements into practicable system definitions.
	Generates system hardware and software specifications for all levels of application (concept through production and use).
     	Ensures compliance with technological standards throughout the project.
    	Client contact is routine and frequent.
Military Engineering Analyst (MEA)
Minimum Education:  BA/BS Degree or the equivalency of two years directly related experience for 1 year of college.  Related experience includes performing engineering analyses, tests and studies in a professional engineering environment, government or commercial.
Functional Responsibilities:
	Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation selection, and substantial adaptation and modification or standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
    	Performs software and hardware requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and documentation for components of complex systems or for small non-complex systems using standard procedures and criteria.
   	Maintains currency in technical field.
    	Develops, reviews, and updates software and hardware performance specifications. Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devises computer systems to process data.
 	Accomplishes functional and empirical analysis related to designing, developing and implementing software operating systems for computer systems.

Word Processor Support (WP Incidental)
Minimum Education:  High School Diploma. Related experience includes preparing a wide variety of documentation in support of government or commercial projects.
Functional Responsibilities:
    	Proficiency in managing personnel, financial management operations and technical program management.

Database Specialist

Minimum Education:  AS Degree or the equivalency of two years directly related experience for 1 year of college.  Related experience includes database design, programming, and administration.

Functional Responsibilities:

	Assists with monitoring database usage, troubleshoots data compatibility and integrity issues, and makes modifications for enhanced performance.

	Assists with defining and documents database administration policies and procedures.


Web Page/Multimedia Specialist

Minimum Education:  AS Degree or the equivalency of two years directly related experience for 1 year of college.  Related experience includes supporting the Senior Designers with product or system design in support of government or commercial projects.

Functional Responsibilities:

	Prepares sketches or complete detail and layout drawings from verbal or written instructions on the most complex projects.

	Analyzes existing systems and defines, designs, and develops new system requirements.

	Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.

	Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system.

	Works under the direction of senior designers or engineers on the development of designs.
